Mother’s Circle
Date: Saturday 12th December
Time: 2-4pm
Location: Anam Cara, Inverness, IV3 8PN
Suggested donation: £5-£10 (to help cover space hire, tea, and resources)
What to bring: Your favourite picture of you as a Mother, a torch for getting to your car.
What to wear: Anything you feel comfortable in. It’s a shoes off space, you’re welcome to bring warm socks/slippers.
A two-hour circle gathering specifically for us to step out of the day-to-day for a moment and fill up our own cups. A space to put down the mental load, say the things we usually keep tucked in, and have an uninterrupted conversation where we can just be.
We’ll be making a small "Mother's Cup", a chance to let our hands be busy so our minds can wander and breathe.
There’ll be warm tea, and any offerings of cake or sweet treats are very welcome, I’ll share any dietary needs closer to the time.
There is a warm invitation for the more “experienced” mamas among us to share their wisdom and perspective, as well as space for those in the thick of early mothering to simply rest and be held.
A Note on Circle Culture
If you haven’t attended a circle like this before, the space is held with a few gentle intentions to keep it safe and nourishing for everyone:
Generous Listening: We give each woman space to speak without interruption or needing to be "fixed."
Unsolicited Advice: We hold back on offering advice unless it’s explicitly asked for. Often, just being heard is the medicine.
Confidentiality & Care: What is shared in the circle stays in the circle, allowing it to ebb, flow, and evolve as we need it to.
