There is a distinct difference between wanting to write and actually having the space to do so.

Too often, our best ideas, memories, and personal stories stay locked inside, buried under the whirlwind of daily routines, endless screens and perhaps that nerve-wracking first blank page. We tell ourselves we’ll get to them someday, when life slows down…

The Untethered Writer was created to give you that someday, right now.

This retreat is designed for anyone carrying words inside them, whether you call yourself an author, a visionary, or simply someone using writing as a path to healing.

Whether you have a long-buried project waiting to surface, a life transition to process, or simply a deep craving to unplug and make sense of your inner landscape, your voice belongs in this circle.

You’ve carried the story long enough in the dark. It’s time to bring it to light.

What to Expect:

  • We bypass the intimidating blank page before the pen ever touches paper. You'll start by hand-crafting your own journal, yours to use throughout the retreat and take home after.

  • Draft in the Dark Ceremony: Gather for an evening circle ceremony. a safe, supportive ritual to melt away self-doubt and release heavy (unhelpful) personal narratives.

  • Enjoy mornings of meditation and free writing, an expansive winter walk on the Sunday, and delicious meals cooked each day to keep you nourished from the inside.

  • This is a non-competitive, non-judgmental container of folks. There is no requirement to publish or prove yourself, just space to let your voice roam free.

  • A blend of guided and self-curated sessions throughout.

What to bring

  • Clothes and shoes suitable for a winter walk

  • Any writing tools you already use (laptops/writing pads/notebook pens)
  • Books/passages/poems which have influenced you (a tough set to curate I appreciate)
  • Any of your own writing work you’d like to share.
  • Comfy clothes for the daytime sessions, socks/slippers for the indoor spaces are suggested.
  • A torch for navigating the croft at night.
  • A towel
